What worries me about the promotion of exercises like this is that it can be interpreted in a way that is harmful to the field. Design isn’t about just changing the UI in 30/60 minutes. Yes, it’s great to be able to execute quickly, but what good is it ultimately without first defining the problem and conducting research throughout the entire design process.

At some companies, design still needs to really fight to have a voice, and articles like this help promote the idea that design is something that is done quickly to make something pretty with little to no consideration for the business and its customers.
